Children’s Home Manager

We are looking for dynamic, ambitious and energetic managers with experience in managing residential homes for children and young people aged 8 -17 years with emotional and behavioural difficulties, learning difficulties, and/or history of mental health problems.

Candidates must be committed to excellence, both in terms of the quality of service delivery and in terms of outcomes for young people.

You will have:

  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to deliver at least ‘good’ rating in the home’s first Ofsted inspection or maintain an ‘outstanding’ rating
  • Passion, drive, resilience and ambition
  • A good understanding of business and finance

You will need to have a Registered Manager’s award orLevel 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Servicesor a Level 4 qualification relevant to working with children, as well as in management, and have at least 2 year experience of working with children and young people in a residential setting within the last 5 years.
You will also need at least one years experience of supervising and managing professional staff.

Children Support Worker

Candidates applying for the role would be working with children with social, emotional and mental health needs, including associated learning difficulties, mental health need, autism etc. We care for children between the ages of eight and seventeen years.

Candidates applying for this role will ideally have previous experience inresidential childcare and NVQ Level 3 Children and Young People services or a willingness to undertake the qualification.
You will be required to work in partnership with the local/placing authorities, parents or carers and other agencies. The main focus of the job is to support the integration of the young people back into their parental homes.

You will have:

  • To provide day to day care of children and young people within an environment of pro-social learning that promotes positive attachments and relationships
  • To support young people in maximising their potential in a safe and caring environment
  • To achieve the highest standard of service delivery as measured by Ofsted against Children Homes Regulations 2015 including quality standards

Essential requirements

  • At least 1-yearrecent experience in a relevant field.
  • Understanding and knowledge of the issues faced by this client group.
  • Experience of personal care.
  • Knowledge of Child in Need, Child Protection and LAC plans.
  • Creative approach to empowering clients to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and protectingthe clients
  • Commitment to the care and well-being of clients.
  • Dedication to continued professional and personal development.
